The Research Centre Training and Education Committee (RCTEC) was created in 1996 to address the training and education needs of staff, as well as, eligible candidates from the Hospital and other national and international institutions, with the aim of helping them develop their highest professional standards.

The Centre provides its eligible staff with the opportunity to: pursue training and postgraduate studies, undertake postdoctoral fellowships, and take sabbatical leaves in leading institutions. The Centre also provides in-house training in the biomedical sciences to interested applicants such as residents, medical fellows, students, new graduates, and government personnel. Workshops and special courses are held periodically on specific topics of current interest for participants from within and outside the Hospital. In addition, the RCTEC is responsible for devising and promulgating guidelines for all activities related to training and education. Through such activities, the Research Centre seeks to transfer professional knowledge, play a catalytic role in the exchange of ideas, and form networks of partnership with scientific and academic institutions both within and outside Saudi Arabia.
